  • Can I purchase replacement parts that are not listed on the website?

  • Where does vacmaster.com ship?

    Vacmaster.com can ship to anywhere in the continental U.S. and Hawaii. If your shipping address is in any off-shore U.S. territories, please call (866) 384-8432 to place your order over the phone. 

  • What size accessories will fit my Vacmaster wet/dry vacuum?

    Your vacuum comes with either a 1 1/4”, 1 1/2", 1 7/8” or 2 1/2"” hose system. Please refer to the “Unpacking and Checking Carton Contents” section of your operator's manual to find the diameter size or measure the outer diameter of the end of the hose to determine which size accessory to purchase.

  • Are Vacmaster branded accessories interchangeable with other branded wet/dry vacs?

    Yes, all Vacmaster accessories will fit other branded wet/dry vacuums with the same hose diameter. Please refer to the "Unpacking and Checking Carton Contents" section of your operator's manual to find the diameter size.

  • What is the warranty on Vacmaster wet/dry vacs?

    • Vacmaster vacuum cleaners carry a limited two (2) year warranty against defects in workmanship and materials from date of purchase under normal use. 
    • Vacmaster Professional brand vacuum cleaners carry a limited three (3) year warranty against defects in workmanship and materials from date of purchase under normal use.
    • Cleva and Vacmaster Industrial brand vacuum cleaners carry a one (1) year warranty against defects in workmanship and materials from date of purchase under normal use.
    • If Vacmaster and Vacmaster Professional vacuums are to be used for commercial, industrial or rental use, a 90 day limited warranty will apply. 

    Warranty does not apply to defects due to direct or indirect abuse, negligence, misuse, accidents, repairs or alterations and lack of maintenance. Please keep your receipt as proof of purchase.

  • Do I need to register my wet/dry vacuum?

    No, registration is not required for a valid warranty, but it helps us provide you with better service in the future.However, please keep proof of purchase or receipt for Warranty purposes.  Please visit the Warranty page for more information.

  • Where can I find the model number of my wet/dry vacuum?

    The model number is located on the motor head of the vacuum or on the cover of the Operator's Manual and usually begins with the letter "V" or "A."

  • Which filter do I use when vacuuming?

    The foam filter is used for wet / liquid vacuuming only. Important: The foam filter must be removed after wet vacuuming prior to any dry vacuum operation. The cartridge or cloth filter that came with your vacuum and/or a Disposable Filter Bag are to be used for dry vacuuming only. The cartridge/cloth filter and filter bag must be removed after dry vacuuming, prior to any wet vacuum operation. Be sure to use the cartridge/cloth filter that best suits your needs. With most jobs you can use a standard cartridge/cloth filter. For specialty applications like drywall or fine dust vacuuming a HEPA or fine dust cartridge filter is best.

  • How often should I clean or replace my filter?

    Replacement depends on how often you use the vacuum and what you pick-up with it. After general cleaning, you can tap the filter on the inside wall of the vacuum container or brush off the debris to loosen and remove caught debris on the filter. Collection bags will also extend the life of a filter. When you notice loss in suction, it's time to replace your filter. Check to see that there are no holes or tears on the filter. If you do find a hole of tear on the filter, replace it before using.

  • I have misplaced my retainer plate for my cartridge filter. How can I get a new one?

    A new retainer plate is included with each cartridge filter you purchase, but are not sold separately. You may purchase a new filter and use the retainer plate for the remaining life of your current filter, as well as with the new filter when you need it.

  • What do I do if I have questions about the assembly of my vacuum?

  • Why does my vacuum cleaner sometimes blow dust out of the blower port?

    First check to see that the filter is attached correctly and that there are no holes of tears on the filter. If you do find a hole of tear on the filter, replace it before using. A standard cartridge filter or cloth filter is fine for most general pick up applications. If you are picking up fine dust like cold ashes or drywall dust, you will need a fine dust or HEPA cartridge filter. For some models, a collection bag can be used in combination with the cartridge filter to capture finer particles of debris.

  • What's the wattage of my wet/dry vacuum?

    Multiply the amps (located on motor head label) by voltage.

  • What is a friction fit hose?

    A friction fit hose fastens the hose to the vacuum port after the parts are pushed together, rather than by any other means of fastening.

  • Why does my remote controled garage wet/dry vac, VWM510, turn on by itself?

    Local radio frequency (RF) devices such as a garage door opener may turn on vacuum if the power switch is left on the Remote Control position. Once you have completed vacuuming, flip the vacuum power switch to the ‘O’ OFF position.

  • What is the EPA RRP Rule?

    EPA's Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule (RRP Rule) requires that firms performing renovation, repair, and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities and pre-schools built before 1978 have their firm certified by EPA (or an EPA authorized state), use certified renovators who are trained by EPA-approved training providers and follow lead-safe work practices.

    The EPA RRP guidelines outline practices related these projects. Some of which require using HEPA vacuums.

    To qualify as a HEPA system, a unit must capture and retain 99.97% of all contaminants down to 0.3 micron in particle size.  In independent tests, the Vacmaster Industrial VK1011SIWTH and VK811PH showed an efficiency of 99.996% in the 0.3 micron particle size range, meeting and exceeding the HEPA efficiency requirements set by the EPA and required under the RRP Program.

  • How often does the HEPA Cartridge Filter need to be changed on the VK811PH and VK1011SIWTH?

    As with most vacuum filters, the answer is, “It depends.” It depends on how often the vacuum is used, the type of debris being removed, even the environment (indoors/outdoors). Our recommendation is that if you notice decreased performance of the vac, replace the HEPA cartridge filter and dispose of it properly. Using the HEPA High Efficiency Dust Bags (Model# VKCB001) at all times will significantly extend the life of the HEPA cartridge filter.

  • I’m having an issue plugging in my Armor All 12V Hand Vac to my cigarette lighter outlet. 

    The 12 Volt plug is designed to fit snugly into the 12V receptacle and may require a firm push.  If after a few tries you are still having difficulty with the plug, please contact customer service at info@cleva-na.com or (866) 384-8432.

  • Why is there a chain attached to the bottom of the tank on my stainless steel wet/dry vac?

    Later generations of our stainless steel vacs include a static discharge chain attached to the bottom of the tank. With the friction caused by circulation of air and debris during use, steel tank wet/dry vacuums can accumulate static build-up during use. A static discharge chain provides a path of least resistance to the ground, helping dissipate the build-up to minimize and even prevent the discomfort of static shock during operation.
